Live Life Queen Size

"Your mehendi looks so bright", smiled Sudha
Nandini smiled and asked "Is it right Mummy ji?"
"Of course it is. I should leave now. Too many preparations. You should rest now."

Nandini was lying on her bed thinking about things. She looked outside how the kids were playing among themselves and remembered her carefree childhood. She got up from her bed to look if anyone was there beside her room. She shut the door and calmly sat in front of the mirror looking at herself.
The red banarasi sari was on the bed with all the jewelleries. She hummed a soothing old song and posed with the sari to see how she was looking.

"Nandini?? Are you sleeping beta?", someone said from the other side of the door.
She hurriedly kept the sari and opened the door.
"No Papa ji. Just lying down", she said after opening the door.
"Actually I couldn't find the number of Ashok."
As soon as Nandini gave him the telephone number, some other girls came inside the room giggling among themselves. "The bride has to get ready now", the ecstatic group of girls announced proudly.

After an hour, Nandini came out of the room. Draped in a red gorgeous sari with all the jewelleries made her look so ravishing and beautiful. It was a long time since the other relatives saw Nandini in such an attire. The rose garland made the look complete. Sudha was awestruck. "You look so beautiful, Nandini!", she exclaimed.

The wedding was to be held in a temple and a reception party was planned in the evening.
Close relatives came to the temple to attend the wedding. Nandini was made to sit beside Sachin, the bridegroom.
After the wedding was over, Nandini told Sachin "so now you have two sets of mother-in law and father-in-law."
"Yes. Should I be scared?", Sachin said to Nandini and everyone burst out laughing.

It really was! Sudha was Nandini's mother-in-law. It was a year back when Nandini married Raj, Sudha's only son. Four months after their marriage, Raj expired in a car accident. Sudha was determined to re-marry off her daughter-in-law so that she could live her life fully just as another girl of her age would. Nandini's parents were hesitant at first but then the groom search was on. Sachin seemed perfect for Nandini.

The wedding was at last over. The reception party was celebrated hugely and the couple lived happily.

All stories are not fairy tales. You must work in it to make it a fairy tale!
